SIA-B
SELF POWERED KORUMA RÖLESİ
Standart Akım Trafolu
Gelişmiş OC&EF Self Powered Koruma Rölesi
Description
The SIA B is Overcurrent Protection Relay with Self-powered and dual powered (Self-powering + Auxiliary power) options.
Impeccably suited for protection and distribution systems, with minimal space requirement, SIA-B compact relay provides a comprehensive range of functions in an amazingly compact and space-saving housing.
The real advantage is that the installation and subsequent maintenance of external batteries are eliminated. The innovative relay is Self-powered using the operating current through three /1 (<2VA) standard current transformers fitted on the lines. These transformers are also used to obtain current measurements. Besides, SIA-B Relay can be used with an auxiliary power supply (24-230 Vac/dc). The operating costs of the centre are reduced.
SIA-B Standard CT’s Protection Relay offering a high performance previously available only in relays with Vaux:
- Remote communications for SCADA (Modbus or DNP3.0 protocols).
- Up to 10 COMTRADE records.
- Advanced functions.
- Completely configurable I/O thanks to advanced logic.
Ultra-fast SOTF
Very low start-up levels and minimum consumption <2 VA
Compact design
The SIA-B is a compact OC&EF Protection Relay with Self-powered and Dual-powered (Self-powering + Auxiliary Power) options.
Standard Current Transformers. It provides reliable Self-powered using the operating current through three /1 (<2VA) Standard Current Transformers fitted on the lines. With the advantage that these Transformers are also used to obtain current measurements.
Universal Vaux. SIA-B can be used with an auxiliary power supply (24-230Vac/dc). The relay can be also supplied by a USB cable connected to the laptop, with the USB KITCOM adapter or a standard power bank.
Internal commissioning battery. Included Lithium battery: 20 years lifetime.
Metallic box. Increase safety by using a metallic box with a High Electromagnetic Compatibility Level (EMC) and a wide range of operating temperatures.
Really low start-up levels. In Self-powered mode: 75mA in three-phase system /160 mA in single-phase system.
Test menu. Allows the trip circuit to be tested before the transformation centre is powered up.
Multiple options for powering and communication
There are 4 configurable LEDs. When the relay is switched off, its previous states can be checked by powering the relay up (by self-powering the relay through a USB cable, auxiliary voltage, or pressing the commissioning battery).
Self-diagnosis of the relay status. (WATCHDOG) through the configurable LEDs and outputs.
Low Power Consumption.
Communications Ports. To allow communication, relays are provided with a local micro-USB front port and with an optional remote communication RS485 port (Modbus RTU or DNP3.0 protocol, selectable by general settings) on the rear side.
Configurable Inputs and Outputs. The SIA-B is provided with a trip output for a low power coil (24 Vdc – 135 mJ), 3 configurable inputs, and 3 configurable outputs.
Load Data Profiling. The SIA-B is fitted with the demand of current (Load Data Profiling) with the following characteristics:
- Number of records: 168
- Recording mode circular
- Sampling rate (interval): configurable through communications 1-60 min
Non-volatile RAM memory. The SIA-B is provided with non-volatile RAM memory in order to store up to 1.024 events and disturbance fault recording (DFR20 fault reports and 10 oscillographic records in COMTRADE format), for rapid commissioning, testing, and post-fault diagnostics. Maintaining date & time thanks to its internal RTC (Real Time Clock) even without power supply.
Intuitive and Efficient SICom Communications Program. The oscillography is downloaded by the communications port. The SICom communications program allows the oscillography record to be downloaded and saved in COMTRADE format (IEEE C37.111-1991). The user-friendly interface reduces engineering and commissioning time.
No external batteries. The installation and subsequent maintenance of external batteries are eliminated. The operating costs of the centre are reduced.
Compact size. Its compact size makes SIA-B easy to install and its lightweight helps the customer to save costs on transport.

Communication Software for SIA & SIL protection relays
The SICom PC software has been designed and programmed to gain access to all of Fanox relays information, to modify the settings and configuration, check states and measurements and to analyse and save events and fault reports using a graphic-friendly user interface.
SICom software works with the Windows® Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 operating system.
- General data reading: Complete model, Version, Serial number, etc.
- States reading
- Measurements reading
- Reading and changing settings
- Reading and changing configuration
- Reading and deleting events
- Reading and deleting fault reports
- Reading and deleting demand current (load data profiling)
- Reading and saving oscillographic records in Comtrade format
- Changing the user passwords
- Saving and Loading settings files
- Saving and Loading configuration files
- Saving events and fault reports
- Saving demand current (load data profiling)
- Date-time synchronization
- Configuring the communication parameters
- Reading and changing counters
- Commands for opening and closing the circuit breaker and block/unblock the recloser
- Configuration of the inputs
- Configuration of the outputs
- Configuration of the causes that start a Fault Report
The update of the software does not require any user´s action, this is, if the computer is connected to Internet, SICom updates itself when it is started.
It will allow you to prepare all the settings and relay configurations without having the relay connected to the PC (offline mode), reducing engineering and commissioning time.
SICom program uses Modbus protocol, so only the ports with this protocol can be used to establish the communication.
Striker – PRT
Self powered Relays do power themselves from the primary current and the energy is scarce, so an efficient management of this energy is indispensable.
Due to this situation using coils is not viable because they have a very high electrical consumption. The solution is to use a striker.
Auxiliary Battery Power Supply – KITCOM
The KitCom is an adapter to supply SIA relays through the front communication port, allowing the communication with the computer simultaneously.
Trip Coil Module for SELF POWERED Relays
TCM is an energy accumulator that can be charged, through its auxiliary supply terminals, before the installation or once the device is installed, if in the installation auxiliary supply is available. The charging time is 10 seconds approximately and once the power supply is lost the TCM has three days of autonomy.
