Netcon GW502 is the main processor for the Netcon 500 series, the new generation station automation system.
Netcon GW502 is used for connection of power station RTUs, protection equipment, and other serial communication devices to the Control Centre and for conversion of substation protocols to accommodate the Control Centre. It can also be used for sharing one substation between two systems.
The Netcon GW502 is a highly versatile communication gateway with the following functions:
- Traffic prioritising and routing
- Bandwidth usage optimisation
- Traffic tunneling and encryption
- Firewall
When used by with Netcon NFE software, GW502 has the following additional functions:
- Connection of outstations to Master Stations over WAN/LAN IP-networks
- Conversion of outstation telecontrol protocols to the Master Station Protocols, like IEC 60870-5-101 to IEC 60870-5-104 conversion
- Sharing outstations between a number of Master Stations
Netcon GW502 supports all the main up-stream and down-stream protocols, like IEC60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-103, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, DNP3 and SPA, and dozens more allowing seamless integration of different outstations into your SCADA system.
